Vidya Mani

Dr. Mani is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Virginia’a Biocomplexity Institute, with deep expertise in global supply chains and technology transitions. In addition, she is a Visiting Associate Professor at the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University and the Indian School of Business. She has decades-long experience working at the industry-policy interface on critical materials, data and digital trade, emerging technologies, energy systems, and national security. She is also an Expert Advisor on Critical Supply Chains and Emerging Technologies at Public Spend Forum (PSF), a member of the working group at United Future, and a member of the working group tasked with developing sustainability standards for the textile and apparel sector at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

Her research focuses on how supply chain imperatives drive operational decisions across key sectors, including automotive, electronics, energy, tech, pharmaceuticals, and retail. Her work highlights how businesses within these supply chains will respond to specific market constraints and regulations.
